Psychological factors are of great importance not only in the emergence of many diseases, but also for their therapy health and medical. That is why the main issue of science today is the possibility of motivation to health preservation.

However, this is no simple task. How to be healthy? This question comes to mind a lot of answers. Psychological factors are a wide range of phenomena, processes, patterns of behavior, which may have an impact on the physical condition of the person.

Another equally important task of the sector is the possibility of interaction between the individual and the disease. It allows you to reveal issues such as the impact of the patient’s mood during therapy on the rate of recovery, the possibility of a human body with an arbitrary pain management, coping with them in certain states, and others.

The third objective is the possibility of self-regulation. It is also important, because even if there are significant motives for health preservation not everyone is able to fulfill properly their own intentions. Jump on the willingness of a particular way of life – this is the aim of preventing the disease. This is facilitated by self-regulation, self-discipline, self-control – not only need to have a plan, but also to find enough strength to resist the temptation to implement the recommendations, diet, etc.

Health psychologists conduct a sufficient number of studies to determine the factors leading to the disease, the installation relationship of health and psyche. It also allows you to set the mechanisms of mutual influence of personality traits on certain physiological processes, thereby identifying risk groups among the people.

We also found that health psychology directly linked to situational factors. This means that the biopsychosocial model – real assistance tool in understanding the health impact of factors. Economic, cultural, ethnic, social characteristics are the source of information on possible violations of conduct disorders, borderline states, etc.

What else is involved in the medical psychologists?

Despite the relatively short existence of science, this knowledge has helped in practice to implement a number of programs to improve the health of citizens.

Psychologists use the methods of behavior change, help to improve the way of life, give up bad habits (for example, participation in the anti-smoking campaign – analysis of the impact of tobacco advertising on the minds of smokers). Important task is to educate people on how to overcome stress. The latter is a real hindrance to the top of a healthy life, because not only can itself provoke a number of pathological conditions, but also conducive to the development of bad habits and prevents calm analysis and the search for ways out of adverse circumstances.

The objective clinical psychologist is also a desire to understand the reasons for the refusal of preventive visits to the doctor, vaccination and other disease prevention methods. Specialist develops and promotion program scheduled medical examinations, since the latter are the basis for the early diagnosis of serious diseases of the heart, blood vessels and other organs and systems.

Medical examination – is not the only method of prevention. Disease prevention is carried out also in avoiding risky behavior – special cars driving styles, promiscuous and more. And it also lies within the competence of the medical psychologist, while for him it is important not only to prevent destructive actions, but also to stimulate the acquisition of behavior favorable – regular hygiene, physical exercise, and so on.
